Waltzingmouse Postcards

Have you heard?  There's a new Waltzingmouse Release!  Yesterday we previewed "Old Country Roses" and today we're showing you "Postcards".  Just as the name implies this is a set that includes everything you need to stamp a custom postcard, or a smaller version artist trading card.  I thought I'd focus on the pretty little stamps that are included in the set.
There are four different stamp images in the set.   I've shown you three of them on this card. The fourth has an image of a rose on it.   Are you flipping over that Santa silhouette?
Next I made a matching tag.  I love the mint and red together, and couldn't resist using the Santa stamp for another project.
The snowflake image matches perfectly with the "Flurries" set as well as the new Snowflake die.
There's loads more projects made with the Post Card set - just click on the designers names below to jump to their blog.

Tomorrow we'll be showing projects with both the Postcard and Old Country Roses Sets. The stamps are officially available on December 2 when we'll be celebrating with a blog hop and a sweet prize!   I hope you'll come back to see more!

Waltzingmouse Old Country Roses

Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving? And did you make it through Black Friday? Cyber Saturday? Maybe your wallet is still smoking. LOL!!! Oh I've got more dangerous stuff for your financial health today! LOL!! New Waltzingmouse Releases! Don't worry! Claire is taking it easy on us this time - just two new sets to show you. Today the design team is featuring projects made with the "Old Country Roses" set.
This is a multi stamp set and I think you're going to love it.  The roses are double stamped, and the leaves are triple stamped. I've tried them in lots of different colors and have yet to find one that I don't like.   You know me.. addicted to purple so lets start with that!  LOL!
This is the multi flower stamp - there are also three single flower stamps in the set.
Told you.. aren't they beautiful in the lemon as well?
Anxious to see more?  Yep.. me too!!  Here's a list of all the ladies with projects to show you today.

Holiday Tags!

Is everyone getting ready for the big feast on Thursday?  I got all my grocery shopping done today and the cooking begins tomorrow!  When sweet potatoes are on sale I make lots of casseroles topped with brown sugar and pecans to stock up in the freezer.  It makes it so easy later to just pop one in the oven as a side dish to just about any meal.  I make some for my parents too so lets just say there are quite a few sweet potatoes on my kitchen table tonight!

I had some fun making tags today!  I was inspired by this double tag by Maureen Merritt at Tag You're It Challenge!  I love the double tag with the pretty patterned paper peeking out the bottom. On my first tag I picked up on the green in Maureen's design, and instead of chevrons I stamped on striped paper

I also thought these might be perfect for the  Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  They have a sketch this week, and when I saw it my first thought was tags!  I mimicked the flagged top square and sentiment banner by making tags with a zig zag edge.  I double cut the Paper Smooches zig zag tag.  The bottom layer is the full size tag, and the top layer I ran through twice.  I repositioned it just below where the die cuts the hole and ran it through again so it would make the tag slightly shorter.

I wanted to match the Peace on Earth Theme with the map paper on the second layer.  I background stamped a few layers of beads to add some color.
They're both so cute!!  I hope you have some time in your busy week to craft.  For me it's a nice break and so relaxing!

Fusion Challenge - Silver Stars

Ready for a new Fusion Challenge? This one is just bling-a-licous! Is that a real word? I don't know but it sure seems to describe this photo pretty well!  Check it out.. glitter dipped jingle bells, silvery tinsel trim, and silver stars!!  Told you!

Not feeling so blingy?  That's ok you don't have to use the photo inspiration, you can make a card in any color or theme using the sketch!!

I wanted to mimic lots of elements of the design like 1.) Stars, 2.) glitter dipped jingle bells, 3.) Eyelet lace, 4.) Sheet music Paper, 5. Big red satin bow!

Something about all that silver glitter told me to make this one a Christmas Card.  My favorite little embellishment lately is slipping a button under raised die cuts.  If you look close you can see a cream colored button just under the bottom of the star.  Buttons just make me happy.  Simple pleasures right?
Here's a list of all the dt members with projects today!

I hope you'll join us at Fusion Card Challenge!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog #37 - Thankful!

We're at the half way point for this month's challenge at
Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog.  We start the challenge on the first Wednesday of every month, and then post a second time at the half way point.  So there is still plenty of time to play.  This time the challenge is "Thankful".  This could be a Thanksgiving card, Thank You card, or a card for or about something you are thankful for.  Autumn is my favorite time of year.  It always makes me sentimental about all the things I am thankful for.  My birthday, anniversary, the birth of my children, all took place in November.   Serendipity was my first design team appointment - also in November.   I'm grateful for all my blessings and the wonderful things I've been able to experience.  Life is good!

Mary (the owner of Serendipity) likes to give the design team an extra challenge when we're making our samples for the challenges.  This time we were asked to "repurpose" something.  I won't even begin to tell you all the trouble that gave me. Where to begin?  It just seemed so "open ended" to me.  SO many different household items to choose from.  I thought about coffee filters, cupcake liners, aluminum foil, bubble wrap, canning jar lids. ...
You know I'm addicted to color, so while at the hardware store this weekend trying to find some varnish I wound up in the paint department and all these pretty paint samples jumped at me. Special thanks to Dutch Boy!   They have lots of pretty colors to choose from!!

Do I have you curious now about what the rest of the ladies used?   You're going to have to pay them a visit to figure it out.

Our special guest this month is - my very sweet friend Lisa Minckler from You Made Me Ink! Lisa is the QUEEN of repurposing things in the most wonderful and unexpected ways!  She always amazes me!!  I hope you'll stop by and tell her hi!

CardMaker & Twinery Blog Hop

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  The Twinery DT has joined the CardMaker DT for a blog hop today.  We're showing lots of beautiful Fall projects today featuring The Twinery Twine.  If you are hopping along today you should have reached me from Monika Wright's blog.  If you'd like to start from the beginning you can get a complete list of designers with projects as well as information on how to win a fabulous prize from The Twinery here at The Twinery Blog or The CardMaker Blog!

If you haven't used the The Twinery Twine before you should definitely check it out.  Side by side comparison with any other brand I've tried has shown me that The Twinery Twine has more color and the quality (thickness) is superior.

The Twinery is offering 4 spools of twine (Solid Mandarin, Gold Shimmer, Copper Shimmer, and Solid Maraschino. $60 retail value) as the blog hop prize!

The Our twine is made from 100% cotton (and some of our twine is twisted with gorgeous metallic string!) and made in the USA. Whether you're gift wrapping, crafting or tying up baked goods to give to a friend, our baker's twine adds a fresh, yet nostalgic look to any project at hand! Our baker's twine comes in an assorted array of delicious colors and is uniquely twisted against a bright white hue, creating an eye-popping burst of color and a creative embellishment! Our twine has lots of color which lends to a fun, candy-striped look.

Tag You're It! #10 Happy Holidays!

Are you having a great weekend?  Not a lot going on here.  My son has a Cross Country pot luck to attend - he volunteered desert so I'm making chocolate chip cookies, and trying to do some over due house cleaning to get ready for Turkey day!   Today I made a tag for the latest Tag You're It! Challenge.  Check out this yummy card with attached tag from Lynn Put.  Yep!  Gorgeous huh?  I'm totally digging this challenge!  I love that I have a starting point with the inspiration photo, and a tag is super quick and easy to make.  Better than that?  I'm going to look like super woman when I give someone a little treat or present with a hand made tag attached! LOL!!  I'm goin' all Martha Stewart!!
Here's how Lynn's tag inspired me.  I started with a stitched base and added die cut images - Just like Lynn!  I als o added some pretty pearls.  Since mine is for the holidays I had to add some sparkly gold shimmer twine, and a little bit of glitter on the fruit.  Something about the holidays requires a sprinkle of magic dust (aka glitter) right?

If you want to play along you better hurry!  There's only a few days left!!!

Waltzingmouse November Pajama Party!

Ready to stay up all night and play?  Just kidding.... but that's what the Waltzingmouse Pajama Party makes me think of.  Staying up all night with girlfriends, making things, watching tv, talking about boys (giggle) ok maybe complaining about husbands... , eating chocolate... you get the picture.  I hope you're ready to party because there's some fun challenges that will definitely help you keep the crazy hectic holidays together.  I know two weeks from now when I'm looking for a tag or a pretty bag for my home baked goodies I will be so GLAD that I made everything I did for today!!

Here's what I made for each of the challenges...

1. Scandi tags - Make a tag or set of tags featuring simple clean design - think Scandinavian style. Think red and white! Any of our Nordic and Folk art sets would be perfect for this, but I will let you into a little secret - so long as you use a red and white colour scheme, with maybe a little kraft thrown in, I'm sure you'll pass muster! I'd love to see a Christmas theme for this, but if you don't do Christmas, how about a Scandi birthday tag?
I made a very CAS one layer Scandi Tag, and a fussier version with a white embossing, layers, and lots of pretty trims.  The first is super quick and easy!
2. Wrap it up warm - Show us your best gift wrapping - make a gift bag or box with a 'cozy' feel, I'm thinking plaids and stitchery....stamp up some wrapping paper - again I'm thinking Christmas but if you have another reason to celebrate we will happily join you!

I stamped the Cabin Plaid onto white card stock, and then stamped the Sewing Box Christmas images in black over the plaid.  I fussy cut the center and layered it over an image stamped on solid card stock. The sentiment stamp is from the Halloween set - Peek A Boo Sentiments.
This is just a kraft paper bag stamped with a sentiment and snowflakes.  The twine is threaded through the opening in the ornament, and the bow is hot glued to the glittered clothes pin.    This makes it super easy to make a handful of these - they store flat.  Just fill them up, fold over the top and clip on that clothespin (peg for my UK friends)!!
3. Old Pajamas -  Make a project using any of your older Waltzingmouse Christmas sets - I'm going to ask some of the DT to play along with us, we're going to dig out our Candy Jar Christmas sets

Who can resist the power of the gingies?????
 Or a shaker card?
Seriously I think a shaker card is my kryptonite!  I just can't resist. You'll hear me ooohing and ahhhing even if I'm in a room all by myself.  Did you know there is a candy jar die now?  Yep!  Super easy to make a shaker!!!

4. Bedtime Story Sketch

The new pretty panel dies make this sketch a breeze!  I used the Flurries set to make a snowy vision in silver and plum!  The sentiment is from Compliments of the Season, and it fits inside that window perfectly!  Do you see the pretty stitching on the "outside" of the die cut?
Whew!  I know.. lots of stuff to look at right?    Well.....
I hope you're playing along - there's a sweet prize to be had!!   You can get all the details here at the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog!
